Toss all notions of a traditional museum overboard! Step aboard and embark on a journey to the past in an eclectic treasure trove of maritime history and culture. The Lunenburg Seaport is filled to the gunnels with an ever-evolving private collection of authentic nautical artifacts, books and art with many a tale to tell!
While we are still finding our sea legs, we are open on a come-by-chance basis, or call to make an appointment.
live music venue
The museum changes course at night when the Lunenburg Seaport moonlights as a great live music venue. We host fantastic bands all the time, check out our events page or follow us on Facebook for upcoming events. Bring your own refreshments and snacks and rock the boat with us! It’s like a kitchen party at a friend’s house… an eccentric friend who lives in a nautical museum.
friday night socials
Every second Friday we open our doors for a good ol’ down-east kitchen party. Come drop your anchor for a night, spin a yarn with some old salts… and some new salts too. Every Social Night is different, but weather we have a band, a DJ or stereo, the forecast is always for a good time to be had by all.
Bring your own refreshments and snacks and make some waves!
Doors open 7pm. $5 suggested donation.
Check out our events page for upcoming Socials.

“I found the Lunenburg Seaport just two years ago, and it has changed the way I view museums. The Seaport is more than a collection of nautical artifacts used by seafarers past on a day to day basis, it is a living experience of working on boats.”
~ John Hayes
“A magical, mystical world of wonders, where you can touch, feel and experience all that mankind has created to connect them to the sea.”
~ Aleks Simard
